Spent the morning working on the X-ray machine, again. Came in this morning to run some preliminary tests, just to see how it was doing, and had an internal mechanical failure. So, I had to tear it apart to fix that. And when I put it back together, one of the safety switches wouldn't make contact, so the unit wouldn't turn on. (In order to make these things safe, so someone doesn't irradiate themselves, the manufacturers put about 50 micro switches in there. If any one of them doesn't make contact, it shuts the system down. So when one of them doesn't, you have to go through and test each one until you find the fault.)
It's now noon, and I finally have it back up and running. Let it stabilize over the weekend, and then Monday morning I start the fun and exciting process of recalibrating it. If I'm lucky, it will be ready to use by Wednesday. But I'm normally not lucky.
Last night, or should I say this morning, was another long one at the other job. There were only two of us in the department, closing last night, so we didn't get out of the store until 1:15 this morning. By the time I got to bed, it was almost 2:30. So I'm kinda draggin today. At least I have the whole weekend off.
