So there is a lot of talk in the media now about bullying. And I can't help but think there is very little that can be done in this country. "We are bullies" should be our national motto. How can we expect to stop people from being bullied, when our entire culture revolves around it.

We make fun of our own citizens on a regular basis. We have a history of invading other countries and declaring war because we don't like "those people", they are different. We promote sports and competitions that are designed to belittle and destroy the weak and timid. Parents applaud their children for being strong and forceful.

And when cases of bullying are broadcast by the media, there is a whole sector of the population that rolls their eyes and comments about how those cry babies should just buck it up and take it. Obviously they're weaklings and deserve what they get.

I don't know, maybe I'm just sensitive to the feelings, since I was bullied as a kid. Although, back then, you weren't called a fag, you were a sissy....
