Work, Vacation and Microsucks

So, I think BB is trying to kill me. I'm still getting scheduled 33 - 35 hours a week there. I'm too old to be putting in these 75+ hour weeks. Or to put it another way, I wish I had a life. :)

Speaking of old workers, I hit my 20 year anniversary with PQ, Friday. Yesterday was the monthly celebration. There were two others this month, who were also celebrating. They're both at 10 years. So of course, I was expected to give some kind of crappy speech. Blah, blah, blah, wonderful place, blah, blah, blah, another 20 years..... Now I just have to pick out my "gift".

Vacation is coming up soon though. We made the last of the reservations yesterday. Lynn flys out on Wednesday morning, Aug 30. And then I fly out after work on Friday the 1st. Hopefully, I can make it to the airport in time. When we started talking about this trip, I had forgotten I have an audit scheduled for that week. I'm just hoping I can convince the auditor to be done by 3:30, so I'll have time to get to the airport, for my 6:00 flight. Who knows with the new TSA guidelines. (f**kin' terrorists. No I'm not talking Al-Qaeda. The government is the terrorist group.)

So anyway, Lynn will fly up a couple days early, to spend some time with his brother, before the wedding. The wedding is Saturday afternoon. Then Lynn and I are driving up to Vancouver on Sunday. We'll spend a couple of days there, and then back to Seattle for the last two days. Then we fly home on the 7th. Short trip, but hopefully will give us some therapeutic escapism.

And Microshaft sticks it to everyone again. I'm finally back online at work. I've been fighting a GPF error for the last week and half. I did a Windows update last week and after that, my internet connection kept failing. Spent a week searching various forums and couldn't find an answer. Did all sorts of virus and spyware scans, all clean. Finally yesterday, found a link to an hotfix from M$, to fix a "possible" problem with an update. The fix was dated 08/16/06.

So that's about it. I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of what now.
