He was also looking at another one. It would be a temporary assignment, about 4 months. Not great pay, but he would have been traveling.
Then they sent the contract for him to sign. Geez, I didn't know they still allowed slave-labor, indentured servitude contracts. Basically, if he didn't finish the contract period, for any reason, they didn't have to pay him. If he was late to work, they would deduct up to a day's worth of pay. If he missed a day, they would deduct 1 1/2 day's pay.
I know he wants a job bad, but I couldn't believe it, when he was reading it to me. I can't believe anyone would be willing to work under those conditions.
Temperatures are going back up this week. I'm just glad I'm not further south. Dallas is supposed to be over 100° today. We may hit 100 tomorrow, but probably only upper 90's. And I'm not sure what is causing it, but the allergies have kicked into high gear the last couple of days. I've been sneezing continually. And the drugs don't seem to be doing much good.
