First, there was the intermittent rain we encountered. There were a couple of times when it was raining so hard, we couldn't see the highway, and other vehicles, in front of us, plus the hydroplaning. At one point, we were going across a bridge, over the Missouri river, and started hydroplaning, while a semi truck hauling two trailers was right next to us. He was swerving in our lane, the rain was pouring, and we couldn't anything.
We also made a detour off the highway to go visit the Stone Hill Winery. On the way down, we were run off the road by an oncoming pickup truck. I'm not sure if he fell asleep or was doing something else, but he came across the lines into our lane and was headed straight for us. I ended up hitting the shoulder to avoid a head on collision. Lynn was looking at the 15 foot drop off, just past the shoulder. Since it was a gravel shoulder, if I had lost control, we would have probably flipped and rolled down the hill.
The winery tour was fun. There was an old "queen" working there, that we ended up chatting with for about 1/2 hour, until he had to get back to work. We have been invited to stop by anytime we're in the area. He even said, if he wasn't working, that day, to just drop by the house.
Other than that, we did run back by the baths last night. Lynn ended up flirting with some guy, visiting from Peoria. He invited us both back to his room for a 3-way, but we couldn't find him. Not sure if he found someone else, or passed out. Lynn said he was pretty drunk. So we ended up just going back to the hotel, since it was already 2:30 and we knew we had to get up this morning to check out.
Had lunch in Central West End again. Watched all the cute guys walking by until the storm moved in. So we hopped in the car and headed back to KC.
That's about it. It would have been nice to meet some of the LJ people from St. Louis, while we were there, but maybe next time.
