Ok, I guess I must have shut my eyes at some point, and didn't see the time shift as it went sailing by. I mean, that's the only explanation I can come up with. Because we're obviously living in the 1950's cold war again.
As if putting plastic sheeting up and sealing it with duct tape is any more effective, than climbing under your desk and covering your head was.
You would think, as advanced as we are, we would have come up with something better in the last 50 years.
1) There is no way, you can seal a building, with plastic sheeting and duct tape, to keep out a chemical, biological or nuclear contamination.
2) If you could, you would die from oxygen depravation, before the air outside cleared enough, to remove the said seal.
3) And who came up with the bright idea, you would only have to stay sealed up for 3 days?
Homeland security is just another way of controlling the masses. Pick a "terrorist" at random. Build a case as to how they are plotting against us. Institute homeland security and waalaa, you have dictatorial rule. You have absolute power, and anyone who opposes you, is suddenly labeled a terrorist sympathizer. They get locked away and you spread more rumors of impending doom. Because, we all know, a scared population is an easily controlled population.
